Before I proceed with any filming in the location for my promotional video there are a number of Health and Safety that needed to be addressed in order to ensure the safety of myself and others within the location during the filming process.
2.This area contained a waste disposal for used gloves for the tattoo process and also a small machine for cleaning and to sterilize the needles, which gives off a great deal of heat when it is in operation so caution would be needed when around this machine as there is the potential that it could cause minor burns if accidentally touched when its operational.
3. This are pieces of equipment used for tattooing, they are used along with the needles in the process so these could have been a safety issue as they would have sharp points on them, and if dropped or mishandled could of caused some degree of injury.
4. This shows tat inside the area where clients were tattooed, there is a small office area which appeared to be very cluttered this would prove hazardous as during filming either myself or one of the staff could have bumped into the area or fall due to the chair being in the way, so caution was needed around this area whilst filming.
5. This could of proved to be a hazard as there were a lot of wires and cables running off of it which could cause either the staff or myself to trip, in addition it constantly emits a moderate voltage of electricity which has the potential to harm anyone nearby if it is mishandled or short circuits.
6. This pressure pedal controls the tattoo needle when pressed, so this could be dangerous as if accidentally stepped on it would turn on the needle and could potentially seriously harm someone, however there is a failsafe device attached to this pedal where the machine that powers it must be turned on as well for the pedal to work, so with that the risk is slightly reduced.
7. This machine was placed on the office desk in the tattooing area and it's used to print off the templates for the tattoo designs and can generate a high temperature of heat when in use, so much so that it has a warning on it that it needs to cool down for 15 minutes after each use so this could be a potential hazard as if it was in use it could seriously burn anyone who accidentally touched it, so as a precaution the safest option would be to sat away from it if it was being used or turn it off completely.
